Lakeside Baptist Church has been serving and supporting the Baptist Collegiate Ministry since it was the Baptist Student Union. Making this possible, Sue Clifton, better known as Ms Sue, along with Betty McCoy, Shirley Hibarger and many others over the years, have been willing to serve.

Sue Clifton believes we started serving a meal for their “NoonDay’ at OSU in 1985. We provided a meal as they had their time of worship and Devotions at the BSU Center on campus. Since probably 1992 we have helped with cookies and brownies for their ‘walk-about’ at Homecoming. Later we added providing a meal in the fall for their Leadership Training conference at Camp Lela or at a church in Stillwater. We are very willing to help whenever we can.

We were very supportive of BSU for years and would invite their Promotion Team/RoadCrew to come to Lakeside and lead us in an evening of worship and fun skits and songs. They often were the entertainment for Sweetheart Banquets. This included BSU Students from OSU, UCO
and TU at different times.

About 1992 we also started helping with a meal at TCC once a year. In 1997 that expanded to a meal every semester at the West Campus of TCC. In about 2019 that expanded to include a meal for the Leadership team on Monday nights once a semester, along with providing a lunch meal on Tuesday at the Northeast Campus of TCC. This led to our current schedule of a Monday meal for leadership, Tuesday lunch at NE Campus and Wednesday lunch at West Campus each semester.

We love the BCM and are so thankful that we serve a church that is willing to support it.
